Whether you are brand new to firearms or you've been around them your entire life, it is always good to brush up on the basic firearms safety rules, and to teach them to others. It is important for people that have never been around a firearm, and do not plan to be around firearms, to learn and know these rules. That way they will be equipped with the knowledge to keep themselves and others safe if they ever must touch a firearm.

In the United States, a country with more firearms than human beings, you ought to learn these rules at as early an age as possible. It is as important if not more important than sex education.
